| REM develop and supply process materials and equipment for the 'superfinishing' or isotropic finishing of gears and all related transmission components, for the purpose of reducing or eliminating wear and contact fatigue, and to radically increase dynamic fatigue characteristics. Techniques are based on the refinement of component surfaces, and are generally applied to case hardened and through-hardened items. The system offers a number of additional benefits which include reductions in noise and vibration, lower lubricant temperatures, and power density increases in excess of twenty percent. REM activities include consultation for process development, sub-contract processing, and the supply and support of equipment for in-house use where required. |
