In addition to its world famous torque wrenches, Norbar has been making epicyclic gearboxes for the tightening and loosening of threaded fasteners since the 1960s. The company has a wide range of standard product available “off the shelf”, but frequently produces modified gear trains to suit specific customer needs. Standard product covers 200 to 100,000 N.m torque output, with the choice of hand or powered input. Tools are increasingly designed for low weight and high speed and Norbar has a significant development programme to handle changing customer needs.Typical applications include heavy vehicle manufacture and servicing, power generation, mining and petrochemical bolting applications.
