| In addition to its world famous torque wrenches, Norbar has been making epicyclic gearboxes for the tightening and loosening of threaded fasteners since the 1960s. The company has a wide range of standard product available “off the shelf”, but frequently produces modified gear trains to suit specific customer needs. Standard product covers 200 to 100,000 N.m torque output, with the choice of hand or powered input. Tools are increasingly designed for low weight and high speed and Norbar has a significant development programme to handle changing customer needs.Typical applications include heavy vehicle manufacture and servicing, power generation, mining and petrochemical bolting applications. The tools are also used on applications beside threaded fasteners, and can provide the source of controlled lifting or turning for everything from people hoists in hospitals to controlled rotation of ball mills and large diesel engines for assembly or maintenance. With powerful air motors as a popular choice of prime mover, the tools can also be made suitable for use in ATEX applications.Norbar’s range of matching torque transducers allow controlled tightening of fasteners and electronic control systems are designed to meet customer requirements.Norbar has regional offices in the US, Australia and China, helping to provide distributor and customer support around the world. |
