For over seventy five years Hansen Transmissions gear units have been at the heart of drive systems and operated successfully in thousands of diverse industrial and wind turbine installations world wide. Hansen gear units and geared motors nominally span 80Nm to 800kNm (0.12 to 12MW) and are available in many configurations and drive packages. The Hansen Group, acquired by Suzlon Energy in March 2006, now comprises the main industrial gear unit plant and headquarters in Edegem on the outskirts of Antwerp, Belgium; the recently opened new wind turbine gear unit plant in Lommel in the north of Belgium; the dedicated Service unit at Schoten (near Antwerp), and the four subsidiaries in the UK, Australia, South Africa and USA. A fifth subsidiary in the Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area (TEDA), North East China, is due to be open for business shortly. The UK operation based in Huddersfield offers a full sales and 24 hours/day, 365 days/year back-up service for both industrial, wind turbine gear units and drive systems.
