Gear Technology Manual

SYNOPSIS

Based on the highly successful 3 volume Teaching Pack, the Gear Technology Manual has been sponsored by the British Gear Association to provide a wider understanding of gearing and to help compensate for a lack of modern English-Language books on gearing design. The six modules cover:
  1. Drive Systems
  2. Gear System Design
  3. Gear Geometry
  4. Design and Stress Analysis of Spur and Helical Gears
  5. Gearbox Design
  6. Manufacture and Metrology of Spur and Helical Gears
Three UK gearing design experts, with experience both of industrial consultancy and teaching, have each compiled two of the modules that make up the Manual. They are:
Mr Dieter Hofmann - Gear Design Unit University of Newcastle
Dr. Hellmuth Kohler of Sheffield University
Prof. Bob Munro at Huddersfield University
