The Role


We are looking for an experienced Manual / Centre Lathe Turner to join our team operating an XYZ Proturn semi-CNC lathe, producing precision components such as gear blanks, shafts and fixtures.


You will be part of a low-volume, high-precision manufacturing team, working closely with production and engineering to deliver high quality components.



Role & Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate centre lathes / NC lathes

  • Machine gear blanks, shafts and precision components

  • Select suitable cutting tools, speeds and feeds

  • Inspect parts using micrometers, gauges and precision instruments

  • Carry out tool changes and routine machine maintenance

  • Troubleshoot  machining issues

Maintain a safe and organised workspace

Essential Skills:

Preferred Skills

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience as a Centre Lathe Turner / Manual Turner

  • Ability to read engineering drawings

  • Strong knowledge of machining processes and cutting tools

  • Skilled in precision measurement

  • Good attention to detail and problem-solving ability

Desirable:


Experience in toolmaking or low-volume precision machining
