The Role
We are looking for an experienced Manual / Centre Lathe Turner to join our team operating an XYZ Proturn semi-CNC lathe, producing precision components such as gear blanks, shafts and fixtures.
You will be part of a low-volume, high-precision manufacturing team, working closely with production and engineering to deliver high quality components.
Role & Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate centre lathes / NC lathes
Machine gear blanks, shafts and precision components
Select suitable cutting tools, speeds and feeds
Inspect parts using micrometers, gauges and precision instruments
Carry out tool changes and routine machine maintenance
Troubleshoot machining issues
Maintain a safe and organised workspace

What We’re Looking For
Experience as a Centre Lathe Turner / Manual Turner
Ability to read engineering drawings
Strong knowledge of machining processes and cutting tools
Skilled in precision measurement
Good attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Desirable:
Experience in toolmaking or low-volume precision machining
