Overview:

ADVANCED ENGINEERING GROUP is expanding its presence across the UK and Irish industrial markets and is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead the commercial development of two strategic product lines:

• I-MAK industrial gearboxes and drive systems;
• Kawasaki Precision Machinery (KPM) hydraulic pumps and motors.

This is a high-impact role suited to a technically competent salesperson who can build strong relationships with OEMs, end-users, and system integrators, while delivering sustained revenue growth and best-in-class customer support.


About the Role

You will lead all sales and account development activity for both product families, working directly with customers in aggregates, cement, power, recycling, marine, manufacturing and other heavy industrial sectors. You will manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting and technical discussions through to quotation, negotiation, and order closure.

The role provides full ownership of a national territory, supported by AE Group’s engineering, operations, and commercial teams.

Role & Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities


Sales & Business Development

• Deliver growth across both the IMAK and KPM portfolios in the UK and Ireland
• Identify, develop, and win new business with OEMs, end-users, and integrators
• Build strong, long-term relationships with major industrial customers
• Plan and execute structured visit schedules and account strategies
• Convert trials, testing programmes, and sale-or-return agreements into long-term supply arrangements.


Technical & Commercial Delivery

• Provide advice on gearbox selection, hydraulic components and drive systems
• Interpret drawings, specifications and application requirements
• Prepare detailed quotations with appropriate sizing, duty-cycle considerations, warranty terms, and commercial logic
• Protect margin through disciplined pricing and negotiation
• Liaise with IMAK and KPM technical teams on non-standard or engineered requests.


Pipeline & Reporting

• Manage the full sales pipeline through CRM with accurate forecasting
• Produce monthly reports on activity, performance, and competitor movements
• Maintain clear records of enquiries, quotations, and customer interactions.


Customer Support & After-Sales

• Ensure excellent service during order execution
• Assist with warranty discussions and technical investigations where needed.

Essential Skills:

Experience & Skills Required


Essential

• Strong background in technical sales within industrial machinery, rotating equipment, hydraulics, gearboxes or heavy engineering
• Demonstrable success in field-based B2B sales
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and system requirements
• Confident negotiator with strong commercial judgement
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Comfortable managing medium/long sales cycles and multiple stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

Desirable

• Knowledge of hydraulic systems or power-transmission
• Experience with OEM accounts or large industrial users
• Familiarity with CRM systems and structured reporting
• Engineering knowledge (mechanical, hydraulic, industrial, or similar).


Personal Attributes

• Self-motivated, disciplined and able to work independently
• Professional and credible in front of engineers and senior decision-makers
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Willing to travel nationally and engage directly with customer sites.
