We have had a very busy start to 2026 here at the British Gear Association (BGA) and we are very excited to let you know we are implementing an important update to our Knowledge Transfer Programme. We are launching a new Training Platform designed to improve how delegates access and manage their learning.
Why are we updating the platform
Following the pandemic in 2020 we changed the delivery of training by introducing Online Training (free for BGA Members). This shift proved extremely successful and has continued to be a key part of our offering.
With more courses available and more delegates attending, and thanks to the support of BGA Members we are in a position to invest in a Training platform. The new platform makes it easier for attendees to track their progress, access course materials, manage their training journey independently and introduces “On Demand” course options. This means delegates can learn at their own pace and choose when to engage with the material, making training more convenient and tailored to individual needs.
The new Training Platform will launch in time for the first Gear Foundation course in February 2026. Meanwhile you can continue to register in the usual way.
What Delegates Can Expect from the New Platform
Delegates should expect a smoother, more user-friendly experience with features such as:
Personalised dashboards to monitor course progress and upcoming sessions
Easy access to course materials including videos, documents, and quizzes
On demand training modules that allow learning anytime, anywhere
Automated notifications for course updates and deadlines
Simplified registration and payment processes
While we are aiming for a seamless rollout, some initial hiccups may occur. Delegates are encouraged to be patient and provide feedback to help improve the platform.

What this means for Delegates
If you are a BGA Member, you will continue to enjoy free access to Online Training courses. In-person courses will be available at a discounted rate, with the discount automatically applied at checkout when you are logged into your account.
If you attended any BGA training in 2024 or 2025 your account will already be set up. Simply log in with your registered email, and you will see your Member Benefits reflected in your course options. If you are a Member new to BGA training, make sure to book a course using your company email address to ensure you receive the Member discount automatically.
Non-members can still book courses online as usual. After booking, you will receive an invoice for payment. This process remains straightforward and familiar. Like BGA Members, if you have attended training in 2024 or 2025, your account will already exist, and your email will be recognized when you log in.
We will be adding any historic training to your account in due course – we appreciate your patience with this.
Managing Your Training in One Place
One of the biggest improvements with the new system is the ability to manage all your training activities.
You can:
Download course materials
Join live meeting links
Partake in selected “On Demand” training at your convenience (coming soon)
View past courses you have completed (coming soon)
Reprint certificates for your records
This centralised access saves time and keeps everything organised, especially if you take multiple courses throughout the year.
Booking Offline
If you prefer, you can still book directly by contacting the BGA administration team at admin@bga.org.uk. We will manually create your account and add your enrolment for you.
For those already registered for any 2026 training, your enrolment will automatically transfer to the new system and appear in your account. This means no extra action is needed on your part to confirm your place.
Thank you for your support
We will be rolling this out in stages over the next few weeks and appreciate your patience and support as we set everything up. We look forward to seeing you at a course very soon.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch: admin@bga.org.uk.
