The British Gear Association (BGA) is the UK Centre of Technical Excellence for gear design, manufacture & application technologies. Our Annual Technical Awareness Event (GEARS) is the leading conference for the Gear Industry in the UK and this long running seminar is considered an essential event for manufacturers, distributors and academics involved in the UK Gears Industry.
The online GEARS conference features cutting edge interactive lectures and presentations from pre-eminent experts from leading companies, manufacturers, distributors, and academics from throughout the Gear and Power Transmission Industry.
About the sessions.
Each day will focus on one area of the power transmission sector, and you can attend all week or specific days or sessions. Each session will consist of a 30-minute presentation followed by a live Question and Answer session with the speaker.

The call for papers at the BGA’s Technical Awareness Seminar presents an exciting chance to contribute to the future of power transmission technology. By sharing your work, you enhance not only your professional profile but also the collective growth of this dynamic industry.
You'll be speaking to an audience that includes industry leaders, researchers, and innovators from the UK and beyond. Previous seminars have seen participation from over 200 professionals, resulting in new partnerships and collaboration opportunities. Engaging with this diverse group can open doors for future research and provide fresh insights into ongoing projects, potentially leading to breakthroughs that propel the industry forward.
Submission Guidelines
Ideally, papers (or an extended abstract and a presentation when appropriate) should be original to the UK audience but previously presented material may be accepted at the discretion of the Gears 2025 Chairman. Your material should be technically accurate, relevant to power transmissions technology and free of commercialism.

Attendance to Digital GEARS 2025 is completely free of charge to BGA Members
Non-members can attend the first day of GEARS completely free of charge – subsequent days are charged at £100 per day.
