Collaboration Opportunity
Seeking Advanced Manufacturing Businesses for UKRI Venture Doctorates |
UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) has launched a £25 million Venture Doctorates Doctoral Focal Award to support ambitious, entrepreneurship-focused doctoral training programmes. The awards will combine rigorous doctoral research with experiential training in entrepreneurship and venture creation, enabling doctoral researchers to generate new knowledge while developing the skills, networks and opportunities needed to translate research into new ventures. UKRI expects to fund one to three awards. The opportunity is designed around strong partnerships between academia, businesses and other organisations. Both academic and non-academic organisations can lead an application, including businesses and social enterprises, subject to UKRI eligibility requirements. Partnerships can also include universities, research institutes, businesses, Catapults, public sector organisations, charities and other relevant organisations. A lead organisation does not need to hold UK doctoral degree-awarding powers. However, any partnership invited to submit a full application must include an organisation with UK doctoral research degree-awarding powers. Find collaborators through konfer UKRI encourages organisations interested in this opportunity to use konfer to connect with potential partners. Academics, universities, businesses and other organisations interested in contributing to a Venture Doctorate application are encouraged to create a konfer collaboration call, describing the expertise, facilities, training, entrepreneurial support or other capabilities they could bring, and use the platform to identify complementary partners. UKRI cannot broker introductions or advise applicants on which organisations they should collaborate with. Key dates
