JOINT BGA / IMECHE STUDENT PRIZE WINNER 2023.

The BGA IMechE joint Student Prize 2023 winner is Xavier Entwhistle from Newcastle University for his MEng project:

"Design of a Motor coupler, Multi-set planetary gears and Wheel hub for the Newcastle University Mars Rover project”"

The judging panel commented:

A well-presented project, which was delivered without support from gear experts within the university.

Clear discussion and decision justifications are provided throughout the project report.

Nicely written design study. I expect it got a high grade from the University.

Xavier has been invited to present his paper the the leading gear experts in the UK at GEARS 2024 in November 2024.
