TECHNICAL AWARENESS DAY WITH ZF:
Where Gear Innovation Meets Hands-On Engineering
The gears of progress were turning at full speed as Technical Awareness Day with ZF brought the European engineering community together at the ZF HUB UK in Solihull.
The event was hosted by the ZF HUB UK Solihull and co‑organised by ZF Services UK and the British Gear Association (BGA), creating a powerful platform for learning, collaboration, and innovation in gear technology.
The central objective of the visit was to deepen technical awareness of modern gear technologies through real-world, hands-on experiences. Designed for professionals working across manufacturing, engineering, and technical sales, the day aimed to move beyond theory—allowing attendees to directly engage with the latest developments shaping the future of the industry.
With a packed house and high energy throughout the facility, participants took part in live demonstrations showcasing new manufacturing processes and advanced testing methods within ZF’s state-of-the-art technical environment. Guided tours of the HUB proved especially popular, as ZF experts simplified complex gear designs and engineering concepts, sparking fresh ideas and practical discussions among attendees.
The atmosphere was collaborative and forward-looking. While the technical sessions delivered valuable insights, the networking breaks created equally strong momentum—bringing together professionals from across the gear and power transmission sector to exchange knowledge, challenge assumptions, and collectively address industry challenges.
Reflecting on the impact of the day, Jake Morris, Site Leader, shared:
“It was fantastic to see such a diverse group of professionals engaging directly with our technology. The energy in the facility was palpable, and it’s clear that providing a space for hands-on learning and face-to-face collaboration is exactly what our industry needs to stay at the cutting edge. Seeing those ‘lightbulb moments’ during the live demos was a highlight for the entire ZF team.”
A special thank you goes to the ZF HUB UK Solihull for hosting the event, and to ZF Services UK for co‑organising alongside the British Gear Association (BGA), and all those presenting, whose collaboration successfully brought the wider engineering community together. Appreciation also goes to all attendees who contributed to making Technical Awareness Day with ZF such a dynamic and impactful experience.
With ideas exchanged, connections strengthened, and innovation front and centre, the event reinforced a shared commitment to advancing gear technology—proving once again that the future of engineering is built best through collaboration and hands-on learning.
