It was great to see so many BGA Members at the 36th Annual General Meeting of the British Gear Association at Ford Halewood on Thursday 22nd June 2023.

We'd like to thank new BGA Members Ford Halewood, for hosting the meeting and providing us with a fantastic venue, presentations and factory tour.

At the meeting Vice Chair Peter Wright advised members that 2022 was a very positive year for BGA paying particular attention to the very strong performance of the BGA training programme since the format was changed to a hybrid model. It was also noted that membership has remained strong.

Operating costs have remained low and further benefits should be realised throughout the coming year, giving greater benefits to members.

We were glad to elect and welcome Baydu Al (SMT), David Curtis (AMRC), David Radley (Davall Gears) and Roger Wingrove (Newmont Engineering) to the BGA Executive Council.

The Vice Chair also recognised the contribution to the Executive Council of Ben Cook who has stepped down after many years on the BGA Executive Council.

A round table of Members at the meeting generated great questions and ideas for where the BGA will be heading for the rest of 2023 and into 2024. We hope to introduce more general Member meetings in the future.

The AGM provided great networking opportunities for Member companies to make contact with peers in the UK Gear Industry.

Full minutes of the meeting will be distributed to Member Companies and the 2022 Annual report is available to download in the publication page on the BGA Website.
