In an exciting development for the Gear Technology sector, the British Gear Association (BGA) has started a ground breaking partnership with Engrena ITA in Brazil. This collaboration highlights the commitment to enhancing gear technology research and fostering connections between the UK and Brazil.

 

To kick off this partnership, a Virtual Member Focus Session featuring Prof. Dr. Ronnie Rego was held on 14th May 2025, at 2 PM (GMT). This session was to inform BGA members about the alliance and how they can get involved. Understanding this network is essential for BGA members seeking to maximize engagement with Brazilian counterparts.

About the Session


Prof. Dr. Ronnie Rego introduced Engrena ITA, an Open Innovation alliance dedicated to enhancing research prospection and knowledge dissemination on gears and power transmission systems in the Brazilian industry.


As part of the cooperation between Engrena ITA and BGA, the highlighted the establishment of Engrena ITA as a hub, providing connection support for BGA members seeking access to the Brazilian gear industry. Furthermore, the session provided an overview of the Modus Operandi of the organization, results in project prospection, and expectations for the Engrena ITA & BGA partnership.
